Mommy started having contractions on March 14th at 4 am. We got to the hospital at noon and Daddy called everyone, even though the Doctor said I probably wouldn't arrive until late that night. Mommy was in so much pain she almost felt like vomiting. Daddy was so supportive even though Mommy was a bit crazed between 2 pm and 5 pm. My Mommy and Daddy chose a great hospital and an awesome Doctor/Mid Wife. Everyone was so great with Mommy. At 11 pm, the Doctor said I was ready. Mommy says she felt the birth was so beautiful and like nothing she expected. There was no real craziness. Mommy was very present and relaxed. Mommy, Dr Kathy Harrison, nurse Laura, and Daddy did all of the work. It was a real team effort. There was a lot of light conversation between contractions, like how long deliveries usually take, when Daddy and Mommy got married, their anniversary... kinda weird, huh?! During contractions, it was all about Mommy and me. Everyone was expecting a 7 lb baby so Dr Harrison said that my head would probably be the hardest part and I could potentially arrive before midnight. However, there were a couple of contractions that came about 10 minutes apart, which pushed me past midnight... that, and the fact that I was almost a 9 lb baby and Dr Harrison and Mommy had a bit of a hard time getting my little shoulders out.
Daddy said I looked blue during the shoulders ordeal and was a little concerned but I think he knew I was in good hands because Mommy says he seemed so calm during the whole process. They cleaned me up on Mommy's tummy and Daddy cut my cord. Pretty neat, huh?!
